How to measure
- Measure inside the walls at the narrowest point. Drawers can be slightly tapered.
- Check for obstacles such as slides, lips, or a handle screw, then measure past them.
- Enter the real measurement. Do not subtract clearance; Fit Allowance remains a separate value.
- Measure usable height from the drawer floor to the cabinet opening, leaving a small safety margin.
Fit Allowance for this Template
| Choice | Per side | Organizer vs. 300 mm drawer | When to use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tight fit | 0.5 mm | 299 mm | A calibrated printer and a drawer with square walls |
| Recommended | 1 mm | 298 mm | Most printers and square-sided indoor drawers |
| Extra clearance | 2 mm | 296 mm | Tapered drawers, PETG, or a first print on a new printer |
| Custom | 0–4 mm | Depends on selection | Explicit 0.1 mm steps within the reviewed bounds |
Allowance is applied per side: printed width = measured width − (2 × allowance). Other Templates define their own mapping.
