About this double over-edge hook
A removable, no-drill 3D printed double hook made to fit over the edge of a cabinet door, shower-glass panel, shelf or divider. Enter the measured edge, choose the shared hook shape and set the pair span for one long object without learning CAD.
What people make with it
- Shower-glass squeegee holder with two J hooks spaced to support one squeegee.
- Broom or mop head support with a wide span for a handle hung with its head above the hooks.
- Wide towel hanger with the U hook profile and a span suited to the folded towel.
Measure the actual edge before printing. Paint, seals and protective pads all change the fit.
What you can change
- Door / panel fit. A measured door or panel from 3 to 50 mm thick, plus 0.4 to 3 mm of sliding clearance.
- Hook pair. Two identical hooks are joined into one print. Set their 60 to 220 mm overall outside-to-outside span for the object you want to support.
- Hook shape. Choose a J hook, rounded U hook or Square hook for the item being held.
- Reach and drop. A 60 to 120 mm projection, 75 to 160 mm overall height, and a 25 to 60 mm mounting drop.
- Body. Each hook is 15 to 40 mm wide, with a 3.2 to 6 mm body, an 8 to 30 mm retaining tip and a 2 to 20 mm J/U bend radius.
Printing it
- Turn on supports in your slicer before printing.
- Use a material and wall settings appropriate to the expected temperature and everyday handling.
- This is a light-duty organizer, not rated lifting hardware. Test it low over a soft surface before regular use.
- Choose your printer and the editor checks that the model fits its bed.
Common questions
How much clearance should I add?
Start with 0.8 mm for a rigid print. Increase it for a rough surface, paint, a protective pad or a printer that tends to make inside gaps tight.
Will it scratch glass or furniture?
Printed plastic can mark a surface if grit is trapped underneath or the hook rocks. Smooth the contact faces and add a thin non-slip protective pad where needed.
Can the door still close with the hook fitted?
Only if there is enough space between the top of the door and its frame for the printed bridge. Measure that gap before printing. Rebated, weather-sealed, fire-rated and close-fitting doors may not be suitable.
How are overall span and hook spacing different?
Overall span is the editable outside-to-outside width of the pair. Hook spacing is the clear distance between the two inner hook edges, shown in the Front view.
Can I hang a plant or other heavy object from it?
No load rating is provided. Geometry, print direction, material, temperature and panel strength all affect failure. Use this Template only for light-duty organization.
Do I need an account?
No. You can generate and download without one. An account keeps saved configurations so you can return to them.
