About this model

A poseable action figure built from an inner jointed frame and an outer armour shell. Ball joints, swivels and hinges throughout give it a very wide range of poses, and its parts snap together.

This is the creator's model-kit version: every frame piece on one runner and every armour piece on another, which helps the many small parts stay stuck to the bed. Snap the pieces off after printing and tidy any nubs with a hobby knife. It is a challenging print, and the creator recommends ABS, ASA or PETG for the frame, since PLA is too stiff and brittle for its joints.

What you need

From the creator’s instructions

In this download

  • Frame runner and armour runner STLs, holding every part of one figure.

Nothing else to buy: the download prints complete.

Before printing

  • Print the frame runner in ABS, ASA or PETG; the armour runner can be any filament.
  • The creator's settings: 0.2 mm first layer, 0.15 mm layers after it, two perimeters, 20% rectilinear infill, no supports and 0.15 mm elephant-foot compensation.
  • Keep the bed clean and slow the first layer, so the small parts stay put.

Assembly

  1. Snap every piece off its runner and clean up any nubs with a hobby knife.
  2. Assemble the frame, then fit the armour over it, following the creator's step-by-step picture guide on the source page.

How to use it

  1. Pose the figure by moving its joints gently; a joint that is too tight loosens with use.
